Wainuiomata Road northbound closure, buses toward Lower Hutt detour

Detour Route 

Buses travelling toward Lower Hutt are unable to travel along Wainuiomata Road.

Buses travel along Main Road and continue on to Fitzherbert Rd toward Parkway.

School students’ information for St Claudine Thevenet School

The school bus will arrive 10 mins after the scheduled time, as buses are unable to travel northbound on Wainuiomata Rd, the bus will pick up students from Wainuiomata Intermediate School first.

Route 1

Route 1 buses will remain on Adelaide Road.

Route 1 buses will NOT Travel along Riddiford Street or Rintoul Street or to Wellington Hospital.

Route 1 buses will miss all bus stops on Rintoul Street, Luxford Street, and Riddiford Street.

Route 1 Services WILL NOT stop at the following bus stops during the above times: 

Northbound

Stop #7017 – Wellington Hospital – Stop B

Stop #7018 – Riddiford Street at Hall Street

Southbound

Stop #6055 – Wellington Hospital – Stop A

Stop #6016 – Adelaide Road at Hospital Road

Route 3, Route 4, and Route 18

These services travelling northbound toward Wellington City detour from Constable Street right into Daniell Street and left into Mein Street returning to Riddiford Street.

These services travelling southbound toward Kilbirnie, and the South Coast travel left from Riddiford Street into Mein Street, right into Owen Street and left into Constable Street.

Route 23

Route 23 toward Wellington City will detour from the Zoo, down Daniell Street and left into Mein Street, returning to Riddiford Street.

Route 23 southbound toward Houghton Bay travel left from Riddiford Street into Mein Street, right into Owen Street, right into Lawrence Street and left on Daniell Street toward the Zoo

Route 29

Route 29 towards Wellington City detours From Russell Terrace into Rhodes Street, left into Daniell Street and left into Mein Street.

Route 29 towards Island Bay detours from Riddiford Street into Mein Street, right into Owen Street, right into Lawrence Street, right into Daniell Street, left into Rhodes Street to Russel Terrace.

• Naenae Station (Bus Stop 8289)(external link) is CLOSED.

Impact

Route 121, Route 130 and Buses Replacing Trains are unable to access Naenae Station - Bus Stop 8289, buses will detour for the duration of the works. Buses replacing trains stops are located on Sladden Street.

Route 130 travels along Sladden Street and will not travel along Vogel St.

Route 130 will START and END outside no. 3 Sladden Street.

Route 121 

Route 121 bus services travel from Naenae Road via Treadwell Street,  toward Naenae Road. Rt 121 will not travel along Vogel St.

A Route 121 temporary stop is located opposite no. 36 Treadwell St, near Naenae Medical Centre.
