Te Hunga Whaikaha Total Mobility is a Metlink service which subsidises the cost of door-to-door travel for people who have a permanent disability and are unable to access Metlink public transport services. This service supports disabled people to remain independent and dignified while using transport services.

In the Greater Wellington region, the subsidy is 75% of the total fare or a maximum of $60 per trip. 

Te Hunga Whaikaha Total Mobility is not intended to be a substitute for transport services that are the responsibility of other government agencies such as the Ministry of Education, an employer, or rest home providers.  It is not available to subsidise sightseeing trips, outings promoted or marketed by transport operators, or as a tourism type service.
