Early Bird special has been extended

*NB: The early bird special is valid for adult Snapper Card users. This offer is not valid for cash, SuperGold card users or any other discounted fares. The early bird special will run for a trial period of 4 months only as indicated above but does not include after midnight services.

Why we are extending the Early Bird trial?

The Early Bird special trial that began on 22 February 2021 has been extended through to 21 August 2021 to allow Metlink to capture more data on passengers’ travel habits.

The extension of the trial aims to benefit customers who do/can travel to work early, to relieve pressure from high demand services during peak times and allow the trial a chance to run its full course.

This will also provide more opportunities for customers that are able to adjust their travel patterns, or for those that haven’t tried public transport before to give it a go at a discounted rate.

The trial extension allow us to make a meaningful assessment as to the success of the trial and ultimately help us as a community to be more resilient and prepared as we continue to navigate COVID-19.
