Increased bus cancellations - 7 July 2022

Across the bus network this evening, we are expecting over 100 cancellations from two of our operators, NZ Bus and Tranzurban. Most of the affected services are in Wellington city and the Hutt Valley.

Metlink passengers will know that our bus network has recently endured many cancellations. We understand and acknowledge the frustration and annoyance our passengers feel when a service is cancelled, especially in Winter. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this causes.

These continuing cancellations are due to the ongoing driver shortage and an increasing number of drivers calling in sick with Covid 19 and influenza.

Please ensure you ‘know before you go’. Check the service you intend to catch is running before you set out to catch it by checking the service alerts on our website for the latest cancellations.
