Paraparaumu Station Upgrade

Description

Metlink is looking at all train stations to ensure they provide customers with a safe, comfortable place to wait for their train. One of the stations getting an upgrade is the Paraparaumu Northbound Station.

Metlink is future-proofing this station by providing:

• Better shelter to keep more customers out of the weather.
• More lighting to ensure safety at night.
• Upgraded CCTV installed.

Metlink is actively working on various building designs to determine the best and most attractive option for its customers, the local community, and the iwi. Our primary focus is providing a safe and comfortable place for customers to wait for their train service while including aesthetic aspects. We are currently reviewing different options for proceeding with the building and are looking forward to providing timely updates.

Benefits

This project will improve the available waiting area and look of the space, while also earthquake strengthening the station.

Once complete, this station will be safer and more accessible to the community.

Customer Impact

Physical works have not yet started.

There will be minor impact on bus operations once the new bus hub is open due to delivery and rubbish removal processes. KCDC has approved a TMP for this.
